A rash may result from an allergy, infection, medication, eczema, irritation, or another skin condition. Your provider will ask when it began, where it is located, how it feels, new products or medications, and associated symptoms. Photos can help, but an in-person examination may be needed. Call 911 for trouble breathing or swelling of the face or mouth, and seek urgent care for a rapidly spreading rash, blistering, skin pain, or fever.
