What to expect during a telemedicine visit
Your provider will review your breathing symptoms, smoking or exposure history, medications, inhaler technique, and prior testing. Care may include smoking-cessation support, inhaler education and medication management, vaccination and infection-prevention counseling, pulmonary function testing, oxygen review, and referral to pulmonology or in-person care when appropriate.
Call 911 for severe breathing difficulty, blue or gray lips, new confusion, fainting, or chest pain. A sudden worsening of COPD symptoms may require urgent in-person treatment.
